Yes, many times. I am one of those guys who holds up traffic to help a female snapping turtle get across a road without getting smashed by impatient or malicious drivers. I have found and freed or rehabilitated animals as small as baby opossums to as large as white-tailed deer. I have also saved fish after a flood when the water level fell back to normal and stranded the critters in ponds and puddles a distance from the river.
