中英文神相似的表達 你譯對了嗎大綱
言簡意賅，不說廢話，開始整起：
1. Blood is thicker than water.
Family relationships are stronger than any others.
中文裏的“血濃於水”，這算是完全直譯嘍。
2. Be able to do something in your sleep
To be able to do something very easily because you have done it many times before.
中文裏可以對應“我閉着眼睛也能…”。
例如：
I haven’t done many portraits, but I could paint landscapes in my sleep.
3. Have money to burn
To have so much money that you do not have to be careful with it.
我們說“燒錢”，英文裏也用了burn哦。“錢多到拿錢點菸”，這麼記就記住了。還記得之前說過的“花錢如流水”不？對了，就是spend money like water.
4. keep somebody at arm’s length
To avoid having a close relationship with somebody.
中文裏咱們有“保持一臂距離”對吧，這麼記就特別好記。例如：
He keeps all his clients at arm’s length.
5. (in) black and white
In a way that makes people or things seem completely bad or good, or completely right or wrong.
我們在評論是非對錯的時候，可能會聽到有人說“不分黑白”。英文裏也用黑和白來指絕對的好和壞，對和錯。例如：
It’s a complex issue, but he only sees it in black and white.
6. In writing or in print
中文裏，尤其是在電視劇裏，每次遇到“簽字畫押”情節，總能聽到“白紙黑字”是不？英文裏也有對應的含義。例如：
I never thought they’d put it in black and white on the front page.
7. Shut / close your eyes to something
To pretend that you have not noticed something so that you do not have to deal with it
中文裏咱們說“對…視而不見”，差不多就是這麼意思。例如：
You can’t just close your eyes to his violence.
They seem intent on shutting their eyes to the problems of pollution.
She stayed at home, afraid to show her face.
8. Shut/ slam the door in somebody’s face
（1）to shut a door hard when somebody is trying to come in
（2）to refuse to talk to somebody or meet them, in a rude way
這個表達有兩個意思，除了字面意思外，另一個就跟我們的“拒之門外”很像了。
9. Two heads are better than one.
Used to say that two people can achieve more than one person working alone.
“人多力量大”，好吧，可以這麼理解。
10. Rack your brain(s)
To think very hard or for a long time about something.
“絞盡腦汁”就翻譯成這個。例如：
She racked her brains, trying to remember exactly what she had said.
11. Have your eye on something
To be thinking about buying something.
就是“看上… 想買”。
12. Take the weight off your feet
To sit down and rest, especially when you are tired
我們的“歇歇腳”，以後用英文就這麼說。例如：
Come and sit down and take the weight off your feet for a while.
13. Be engraved on/ in your heart, memory, mind, etc.
To be something that you will never forget because it affected you so strongly.
深深的印在心裏或者記憶力。例如：
The date of the accident remains engraved on my mind.
