場景說明:Lynette帶着一家人來參加Mary Alice Young的葬禮,但是幾個孩子卻一點面子都不給,一直吵吵鬧鬧,沒個消停tte試圖威脅他們,好讓他們規矩點.

Lynette: "Santa's cell phone number."
Twin: "How'd you get that?"
Lynette: "I know someone who knows someone who knows an elf. And if any of you acts up, so help me, I will call Santa and tell him you want socks for Christmas. Are you willing to risk that?"
They shake their heads no.
She straights up. "All right, let's get this over with." 
L:聽着,你們今天給我規矩點.我可不會讓自己在所有鄰居面前丟臉.你們別以爲我是在開玩笑…

L:聖誕老人的手機號碼.
Twin:你是怎麼搞到的?

get something over (with)是指完成,結束某事,尤其是指那種討厭做卻不得不做的事.比如說開考在即,很多同學都會有這樣的心態"I'll be glad to get the exam over and done with. (考試結束後我就高興了.)".沒有人喜歡考試(除了少數人),所以能get the exam done and over with當然就是一件很開心的事情了.
