必知的美國交通規則

1. Always buckle1 up. 永遠繫好安全帶。
Buckle up指的是把安全帶繫好，還可以說fasten the seatbelt.一般來講，各個州都要求司機和司機副座上的乘客系安全帶，不過現在很多州更爲嚴格，要求普通轎車的所有乘客都要系安全帶，否則被發現就要受處罰。記得我曾看過一個公益廣告，警察出來說：“If you don’t buckle up, you’d better listen up.”意思就是“如果你不繫安全帶，那麼你最好聽清楚了。”Listen up這個詞組在口語裏也很常用，它被用來提醒大家的注意，就是“聽好了!”的意思。例如老師要宣佈一件很重要的事情，但是班上亂哄哄的，老師就會說：“Listen up!”。
2. Put your children in back!把您的孩子放在後座上!
美國法律規定，12歲以及12歲以下的兒童一律要坐在後座上，而且4歲以下的嬰幼兒要使用特殊的座位裝置(我們在談論車子的文章裏，曾經提到過)。這是因爲，兒童的骨質比較柔軟，遇到危險緊急剎車，容易受到更大的衝擊。
3. Never drunk drive! 決不酒後駕駛!
美國的醉酒問題很嚴重，酒後開車出的事故也比其他原因的事故多。據說，每五個美國人中，有三個在他的一生中，都會遇到酒後開車的大大小小的事故。各州對於酒後駕駛的處罰也非常嚴厲，除了罰款，扣分，試情形還要坐牢。你可能還會聽說DUI Law，也就是Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol，這條法規禁止在使用，造成神志不清醒的藥物和酒精的情況下開車，抓到了，處罰也非常嚴厲。很多美國人有去酒吧喝酒聊天的習慣，所以交通部門建議最好有一個人保持清醒以便駕駛。另外，如果真的喝多了，有些酒吧也會免費提供出租車送你回家。
4. You always have to stop at a stop sign.

Fourth One: What kind of salary did you have in mind?
Salary is how much money you earn, usually per year. When asked this, it's best to answer with a salary range or approximation and not an exact figure. This shows that you are familiar with the industry if you know what the approximate salary should be.

Fifth One: If hired, when could you start work?
When answering this it's best not to say you can start right away. This might make you seem very desperate for a job. A safe answer would be "I can start at the beginning of next month."
