一、前肯後否結構
“more ... than ...”表示兩個事物的同一方面進行比較時，最基本意思是“比……多，比……更加”。但在具體語境中，在譯成漢語時，我們需要認真措辭，進行轉譯。
例如：I was more annoyed than worried when they did not come home.
他們沒有回家，與其說我擔心倒不如說我很惱火。
二、前否後肯結構
“less...than ...;not so much ...as ...”表示兩個事物的同一方面進行比較時，基本意思是“比……少;比……小”。但在具體語境中，在譯成漢語時，我們需要認真措辭，進行轉譯。
例如：John is less daring than quick-witted. 與其說約翰膽大，不如說他腦子靈活。
三、前後都肯定結構
“no less ...than (=not any less...than...) ...;as...as...”表示兩個事物的同一方面進行比較時，譯爲：(前者)和(後者)一樣都……
例如：She is no less beautiful than her sister. 她和她姐姐一樣漂亮。
“no less ...than (=not any less...than...) ...;as...as...”表示同一事物的兩個方面進行比較時，譯爲：既(前者)……又(後者)……
四、前後都否定結構
“no more ... than ...(=not any more...than)”表示兩個事物的同一方面進行比較時，譯爲：(前者)和(後者)一樣都不……
例如：He is no better at swimming than I.他和我都不擅長游泳。
“no more ... than ...(=not any more...than)”表示同一事物的兩個方面進行比較時，譯爲：既不(前者)……也不(後者)……;
例如：She is no more intelligent than beautiful.她既不聰明，也不漂亮。
