English songs have been very popular for people around the world for many decades. From Elvis Presley to Ricky Martin , from the Beattles to Eminen and from Natalie cole to Britney Spears have all been sitting in everyone's heart, even for people who don't speak English.... even for people who speak zero English.

Should you have better English skills if you listen to English songs for a long time. From my experiences, some people listen to English songs for 20-30 years but still don't accomplish any good English skills. Some people choose English songs to be the "main learning approach", which most are failed.

Listenning to English songs does not help you to speak English fluently. It does help you gain some vocabularies but, yet, most of them are unusual ones that you don't use in your everyday life. You won't learn the sentence "It is a complicate project. We really need to meet the deadline." in any English songs All you will hear are only love, passion, infection, hate and blue, for the feeling not the color.

聽英文歌並不能讓你講一口流利的英語。雖然聽歌的確能增加你的詞彙量,但是這些詞彙中的大部分都是日常生活中不怎麼常用的。比如你在任何英文歌裡都不可能聽到這個句子:It is a complicate project. We really need to meet the deadline. 你能聽到的只有關於愛、恨、激情、鬱悶之類的詞彙。

People like using English songs to practice English skill because it's easy and enjoy. They think that sitting in the car listenning to English song day by day can improve their English skills. It is actually not. You will definitely not improve your listenning skill becasue normal people don't speak with melody. People don't talk like Eminen song. You can't get yourself familiar with English pronunciation or accent just from listenning to English songs. The words that they pronouce in the songs are not the words that you will hear in your everyday life. It's oftenly even confused you more how English is pronouced.

大家喜歡聽英文歌來學習英語是因為這是一種簡單、享受的方式。有些人以為天天坐在車裡聽聽歌就能學好英語,其實這是不可能的。因為正常人說話是不帶音調的。人們說話和唱歌是很不一樣的。如果你只是聽英文歌,你就不會熟悉英語語音語調。其次,你在英文歌裡聽到的詞在日常生活中也不會常用。甚至,還有可能干擾你的英文發音。

  擴充套件:查行文的一致性

通過分析近幾年NMET中的短文改錯題,筆者認為約百分之五十的錯誤設定與行文的一致性有關。因此,答題時查文章在行文中是否保持一致是發現錯誤並加以糾正的一個重要突破口。在尋查錯誤時,必須打破行的界限,通篇考慮, 起碼也要以一個完整的句子為單位。下面筆者就以近幾年的高考試題為例,談談把哪幾個方面 作為突破口去查尋行文不一致的錯誤。

一、查時態是否一致

時態錯誤幾乎是每年NMET短文改錯中必設的改錯題。要有目的地去檢查文中的每一個謂語動詞的時態與上下文、語境以及該句的時間狀語是否相符和一致。例如:

y, it is much easier to be healthy than it is inthe past. (NMET' 93) is 應改為was,使之與時間狀語in the past一致。

2.I had always wanted to return to the village aftermoving away. And it is really grea t to see most of my oldfriends again. (NMET' 95)is 應改為was,與前面分句的時態一致。

offered me coffee and other drinks. We have a goodtime talking and laughing together .(NMET' 96)have與前面句子中offered時態不一致,應改為had。

o, I learn about you from my English teacher, MissFang.(NMET'97)learn(得知)在這裡不是表示一個經常發生的動作,應改為過去時learned1。(本來此處還可改為have learned, 由於"短文改錯" 題 要求,每行只允許改一個錯誤,故have learned不能接受。)

favourite sport is football.I was a member of ourfootball team.(NMET'98)全文都是用的一般現在時,此句中的was顯然與上下文語境不符,應改為am。

Sunday, police cars hurry to the taller buildingin New York…(NMET' 92)hurry應改為 hurried,才可與時間狀語lastSunday一致。

二、查主謂是否一致

在檢查謂語動詞的時態和語態是否正確的同時,還要注意檢查該動詞在人稱和數上是否與主語保持了一致 。例如:

ne may borrow books, and it cost nothing to borrowthem. (NMET' 94)cost應改為costs,因其主語是it(為形式主語),且上下文均為一般現在時。

new boy or girl in school quickly become one of theclass…(NMET'93)由or連線的兩個以上的主語應由靠近謂語的主語來決定謂語的單複數形式,故become應改為becomes。

ing football not only…but also give us a sense2 offair play and team spirit3. ( N MET'98) 此句的主語是playingfootball,視為第三人稱單數,其謂語give應改為gives。

e are branch4 library in many villages.(NMET'94) 句中主語 library應改為複數形式libraries ,因為前面是there are,主謂應一致。主謂語一致的情況較為複雜,考生平時學習要留心歸納。有些特殊句式的主謂一致問題很容易被忽視,如倒裝句、關係代詞在定語從句中作主語的情況等,答題時要高度重視。

三、查指代是否一致

對於短文中出現的每一個代詞都要查一下它所指代的內容以及在句中的作用,注意其數、格、詞性是否正確和前後一致,包括人稱代詞、指標代詞、反身代詞、關係代詞以及疑問代詞等。指代錯誤也是高考改錯題中 常設的改錯題。例如:

climb everywhere, not only in America. They havebeen to Europe…(NMET'92)根據上下文,句中的They屬指代不一致,應改為We。

game speaks for themselves.( MET'90) 句中的反身代詞themselves 應改為單數itself,因為指 代的是單數主語the game。

I can't forget the food you cooked for I.(NMET'95)人稱代詞在作介詞的賓語時用賓格,I應改 為me。

Smiths did his best to make me feel at home.(NMET'96)句子的主語the Smiths表示的是複數概 念"史密斯一家人",故其指代詞應該用第三人稱複數their而不是his。

5.I live in Beijing, where is the capital of China.(NMET'97)關係副詞where在引導定語從句 時不可作主語,應將其改為關係代詞which。

四、查平行結構是否平行一致

由and,or,but,either…or…,neither…nor…,not only …but also…, as well as等並列連詞和詞 組連線的結構可稱為平行結構。平行結構在詞性、時態、非謂語動詞的形式上往往要求前後一致。答題時要留心平行結構前後是否對等平行,這也是常設的錯誤。例如:

rn people know…,have better food,and to live incleaner surroundings7.(NMET'93)應將 to live前的to刪掉,因為and連線的是know,have,live三個並列平行的謂語動詞,其時態和形式必須一致。

said it was best to stay until help arrived ratherthan go into the forest and get ting lost.(NMET'91) go …andgetting顯然不平行,應 將getting改為get。

was very kind of them to meet me at the railwaystation and drove8 me to their home .(NMET'96)句中的drove顯然與and前面的to meet不平行,應改為drive。

五、查名詞的單複數與修飾詞語或上下文是否一致

名詞數的錯誤也是高考常設的改錯題。要查一下名詞是否可數,與其修飾語是否一致。例如:

1.…They have been to Europe many time. (NMET'92)time(次)顯然與修飾語many不一致,應改為tim es。

2.(They) … asked me lots of question.(NMET'96)question 是可數名詞,其修飾詞是lots of,當然應 該用複數questions。

study quite a few subject, such as maths, Chinese …(NMET'97) quite a few 只能修飾複數名 詞,故subject 應改為subjects。

4.(We)… often watch football match on TV together.(NMET'98)根據上下文和該句中的often來判 斷,句中的match 應該是matches。

六、查行文邏輯是否一致

查這方面的錯誤應從文章整體內容出發,通篇考慮,以行為單位是難以發現這種錯誤的。邏輯不一致主要 是由肯定與否定、關聯詞語以及動詞(如come與 go,take與bring)的誤用所造成的,應多從這方面去查詢。例如:

people can quickly get help from a doctor or go toa hospital since they are ill.(NM ET'93)根據行文邏輯,這裡不應該由since來引導原因狀語從句,而應該是when/whenever或if來引導時間或 條件狀語從句。

tried to fix it and there was nothing we could do. (NMET'91) 根據行文邏輯,表示並列關係 的and 應改為表示轉折關係的but。
