It is widely noted that lots of traditional culture is disappearing alongwith the development of technology. Many ancient architectures and traditionalways of living have been deserted. It seems that the traditional culture andcraftsmanship will be replaced in this modern era.

The following reasons can account for the above phenomenon. Firstly, traditional technologies are always considered ineffective while the newsciences are always highly efficient, because modern science and technologyfacilitate both our daily and academic life a lot, with which we can save muchmoney and time. Secondly, it is costly to protect the traditional culture, especially the maintenance and repair of the historical buildings.

In my opinion, although traditional culture is an ancient heritage, itcouldn't keep pace with the development of society. It is the tide of historythat the traditional culture and technology will no doubt be eliminated in theend.

The passage mainly tells us the importance of protecting traditionalChinese culture, which is challenged or facing extinction because of thedeveloping society and changing lifestyle. Besides, China is nationwide sparingno efforts to do it.

The protection of national and folk culture is of great significance toChinese cultural diversity and also to the harmonious development between localeconomic and social development. It is reported that the Guangdong governmentpays special attention to protecting Chaoju(潮劇), a local drama born in Chaozhouin the eastern Guangdong province.

In my opinion, some measures should be taken to protect traditional cultureeffectively. To start with, we should make a law to regulate the society’sperformance. Besides, we should draw more people’s attention to it, for the morethey know about the importance of culture protection, the stronger the supportwe can get from the public.

In a word, it is high time for us to treasure and develop our own valuableculture.

The Culture of China is home to one of the world's oldest and most complexcivilizations. China boasts a history rich in over 5,000 years of artistic, philosophical, political, and scientific advancement. Though regionaldifferences provide a sense of diversity, commonalities in language and religionconnect a culture distinguished by such significant contributions such asConfucianism and Taoism. Confucianism was the official philosophy throughoutmost of Imperial China's history and strongly influenced other countries in EastAsia. Mastery of Confucian texts provided the primary criterion for entry intothe imperial bureaucracy.

With the rise of Western economic and military power beginning in themid-19th century, Western systems of social and political organization gainedadherents in China. Some of these would-be reformers rejected China's culturallegacy, while others sought to combine the strengths of Chinese and Westerncultures.

China is a unified nation consisting of many different ethnic y-six different ethnic groups make up the great Chinese national use the Han people accounts for more than ninety percent of China'spopulation, the remaining fifty-five groups are generally referred to as "ethnicminorities." Next to the majority Han, the Mongolian, Hui, Tibetan, and Uygurpeoples comprise the largest ethnic groups. Although China's ethnic minoritiesdo not account for a large portion of the population, they are distributed overa vast area, residing in every corner of China.

Particularly since the implementation of China's opening and reform policy, the central government has increased investment in minority areas andaccelerated their opening to the outside world. This has resulted in an upsurgeof economic development in these areas. Each of China's ethnic minority groupspossesses a distinctive culture. The Chinese government respects minoritycustoms, and works to preserve, study, and collate the cultural artifacts ofChina's ethnic minority groups. The government vigorously supports thedevelopment of minority culture and the training of minority cultural workers, and fosters the development of traditional minority medicine.

The relation among China's ethnic groups can be described as "overallintegration, local concentration, mutual interaction." Concentrations of ethnicminorities reside within predominantly Han areas, and the Han people also residein minority areas, indicating that there has been extensive exchanges amongChina's ethnic groups since ancient times. With the development of the marketeconomy, interaction among ethnic groups has become even more active in theareas of government, economics, culture, daily life, and marriage. Linked byinterdependence, mutual assistance, and joint development, their common goalsand interests creating a deep sense of solidarity, China's ethnic groupsresemble a great national family, together building Chinese civilization.

Traditional Chinese culture is beginning to capture the attention of theworld. This is true even as popular culture that has traditionally beenconsidered Western begins to spread throughout China. Kung Fu, especially, hashad a great impact on the millions of people who first learned about Chinathrough it. From that, they may come to China and learn about other aspects ofthis culture, such as traditional operas like the Beijing and Sichuan n nations have long known about the greatness of ancient Chinese r own cultures are a mix of native ones and those Chinese a and Japan long ago adopted ideas such as Confucianism is something thatcontinues today even as it is challenged by Pop Culture. This strength comesfrom the ideas given in the Four Books of Confucianism (The Great Learning, TheDoctrine of the Mean, The Analects of Confucius, and The Book of Mencius). Thesebooks built upon the ideas of an even more ancient period codified in the FiveClassics. From them, the West learns such things as Fengshui and other conceptsthat are uniquely Chinese. China has taken steps to further this spread of itsculture by establishing Chinese Cultural Centers in such places as the UnitedStates and Europe.
