現 象 解 釋 型
題目一般反映出社會中的某一現象或問題，如環境保護、文化融合、網絡問題、留學熱、人口增長等。
這種作文的模板通常爲：
開頭段：介紹現象或通過描述圖畫點題;
No one can fail to notice the fact that an increasing number of Chinese are fond of celebrating some Western festivals instance, on Valentine’s Day, many people give flowers or chocolate to the one they love.
正文段：解釋這種現象產生的原因或含義;
There are two reasons for the improvement in peoples living conditions. in the first place, we have been carrying out the reform and opening-up policy. secondly, there has been a rapid expansion of our national economy. furthermore, the birth rate has been put under control.
結尾段：呼應前文，總結並評價主題或預測未來，也可提出建議。

問 題 解 答 型
該類作文通常提出一急需解決的社會問題，如環境污染、養老問題、能源危機、人才流失、食品安全、假冒僞劣產品等問題。
該類文章的寫作思路爲：
開頭段：介紹這一社會問題;
Two decades ago, blue sky and white cloud was so common for Chinese; however, in recent years the quality of the air has been deteriorating severely. The toxic haze and smog always pervades the vast region of China, imposing terrible impact on citizen’s health. What led to this situation?
正文段：提出解決措施或建議;
My suggestions to deal with the problem are as follows. to begin with, it is urgent to create nature reserves. secondly, certain rare wild animals that are going to be extinct should be collected, fed and reproduced artificially. finally, those who hunter them must be punished severely.
結尾段：總結全文，評價或預測未來
In conclusion, we must take into account this problem rationally and place more emphases on peasants lives. Any government that is blind to this point will pay a heavy price.
觀 點 論 證 型
該類作文主要是分析論證具體的觀點，如合作、自信、毅力、堅持等觀點類話題。
該類文章的寫作思路爲：
開頭段：介紹要論證的主題或觀點;
When it comes to persistence, there is no denying that it is indispensable to success. Therefore, great importance has been attached to the persistence. It is through persistence that the human has achieved so many accomplishments.
中間段：對觀點進行說理論證;利用舉例、數據、名言等論證法;
lets take cars for example. they not only pollute the air in cities,but make them crowded. furthermore, they are responsible for a lot of traffic accidents. the noise made by cars disturbs the residents living on both sides of streets all day and night.
結尾段：總結全文表明個人決心或未來的打算。

觀 點 對 比 型
該類型作文重點探討某一主題或不同主題的不同方面比較或對比，話題包括我們應該保持樂觀還是悲觀，大學校園應不應該免費對外開放，應該精讀還是泛讀等。
該類文章的寫作思路爲：
開頭段：提出對比的兩種觀點;
Different people have different views on opportunity. Some people think that there are few opportunities in the world,while others argue that everybody will have some kind of opportunity along his life route.
主體段1：列出一種觀點及存在的原因;
Opinions on whether university campuses should be open to tourists vary from individual to individual. Proponents consider it beneficial to both the university and the tourist.
主體段2：對比出相反或不一樣的觀點及原因;
However, there are still many people who favor studying at home. They argue that studying abroad is too expensive and therefore doesn’t pay.
結尾段：總結個人觀點
For my part, it is the most important thing for students to make proper use of the computers in dorms. While students enjoy the convenience of computers, they should be alert to problems of computers.
如果側重點是表達個人觀點，那前面別人的觀點與原因一筆帶過即可。
圖 表 漫 畫 型
該類作文通常用圖片、表格或漫畫的方式反映出某一問題、現象或觀點，總體上可歸類於以上四類當中的某一類。但同以上四種作文最大的區別在於第一段，該類作文要求考生首先對圖表、漫畫進行簡單表述，然後點題並加以論證說明。
該類文章的寫作思路爲：
開頭段：簡單描述圖表、漫畫並點題;
Students tend to use computers more and more frequently nowadays. Reading this chart, we can find that the average number of hours a student spends on the computer per week has increased sharply. In 1990, it was less than 2 hours; and in 1995, it increased to almost 4 hours, and in 2000, the number soared to 20 hours.
正文段：對主題進行論證說明;
結尾段：總結全文並評價主題或預測未來。
