1. 解釋
At one’s wits中的wit是指“領悟力，智力，理解力”。此語的字面意思是“處在某人智力的末端”，也就說某人“智窮計盡，沒有辦法”了。表示對某事或某人束手無策，拿某人或某事沒有辦法了，在段語的後面用介詞“with”，即：at one’s wits with sb. /sth.
