國際高檔美妝品牌在華降價搶市場

High-end cosmetic brands, including Estee Lauder and Amorepacific, have announced price cuts in the Chinese market in the new year in response to lowered consumption tax.

近日,作爲對消費稅下調的響應,雅詩蘭黛和愛茉莉太平洋等高檔化妝品牌紛紛宣佈在新的一年裏在中國市場降價。

The South Korean beauty company Amorepacific said last Tuesday that the suggested retail prices of 327 items under its four major brands will be slashed by anywhere between 3-30% starting from Jan 15.

韓國化妝品公司愛茉莉太平洋上週二表示,自本月15日起,該公司旗下4大品牌的327個單品的建議零售價將下調3-30%。

Meanwhile, the US cosmetics manufacturer Estee Lauder has also announced it will lower the retail prices of a few make-up and perfume products by 7% to 18% starting from Jan 15.

與此同時,美國化妝品製造商雅詩蘭黛也宣佈,自本月15日起將部分彩妝和香氛產品的零售價下調7-18%。

The Ministry of Finance says China has eliminated consumption taxes on ordinary cosmetics and will only levy the tax on high-end products. The tax rate has also been lowered to 15%.

財政部稱,我國已取消了普通化妝品的消費稅,僅對高檔化妝品徵收消費稅且其稅率已降至15%。

An industry insider says in addition to the tax reduction, the rapid development of cross-border e-commerce and overseas purchasing services in China have also pushed international brands to adjust prices in the country.

業內人士稱,除了減稅,我國跨境電商和海外代購服務的迅猛發展也對國際品牌在華調價起到了推波助瀾的作用。

A recent report released by Changjiang Securities, a securities firm based in the central Chinese city of Wuhan, suggests the contraction in high-end cosmetics market in China as a result of slowed consumption growth has boosted markets for more affordable products and forced luxury brands to lower prices in the country.

長江證券--一家位於中國中部城市武漢的證券公司,近日發佈一項報告稱,中國高端化妝品市場有所萎縮。這是由於消費增長的放緩使得市場增加了更實惠的產品,並迫使奢侈品牌在國內降價。
