First Lady Melania Trump's new pamphlet on talking to kids about safe online activities is actually an existing Federal Trade Commission(FTC) document drafted almost entirely during the Obama administration.

The only apparent contribution from the first lady's office is a brief introduction encouraging parents to 'communicate your values' to kids that includes her professionally-shot official photo and signature.

'Talking with Kids about Being Online' even relied on identical color schemes, fonts, and design elements of the original document that has already seen millions of copies reproduced and distributed to parents and schools.

An FTC associate director acknowledged the first lady's only contribution to the document was a letter introducing it on the second page.

Inside the pamphlet, one section warns about 'inappropriate conduct' and 'inappropriate content' online. Parents are advised to 'be patient and supportive.'

'The FTC approached us to include this as a good resource and we were happy to do so,' Trump's spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham told in response to questions about it.
