《女王》製片商擬將撒切爾夫人搬上熒幕Margaret Thatcher to get movie treatment

The French production company that helped bring The Queen to the big screen is turning its attention to another female icon: Margaret Thatcher.

曾將《女王》搬上熒幕的法國電影製片公司日前又將目光投向另一位“女中豪傑”：瑪格麗特·撒切爾。

The film will focus on one of the former prime minister's crowning glories, the 1982 Falklands War against Argentina.

這部新片將重點講述這位英國前首相光輝政治生涯中的一個重要事件，即1982年與阿根廷的馬島戰爭（又稱“福克蘭羣島戰爭”）。

French-owned UK-based production and distribution banner Pathe has joined forces with the BBC and independent producer Damian Jones to develop the project, which they said will offer "a revealing and intimate portrait" of the woman dubbed "the iron lady".

這家總部位於英國的法國Pathe製片及發行公司計劃與英國廣播公司和獨立製片人達米安·瓊斯聯手，將撒切爾夫人搬上熒幕。據製片方稱，這部新片將是這個被稱爲“鐵娘子”的女人的“真實寫照”。

They have commissioned Brian Fillis to develop a screenplay. No director has yet been attached and a Pathe spokesperson stressed that the project was in the very early stages of research and development.

No budget was announced but it will be subject to cast.

The film will centre on Thatcher's battle to save her career in the 17 days immediately before the Falklands War, which was triggered when Argentina invaded the remote archipelago in the southern Atlantic.
