剛剛說了，西班牙不同地區的差異很大，有些地方其實有不一樣的歸屬感。
這其中最典型的可能就是巴斯克地區 Basque 以及巴塞羅那所在的加泰羅尼亞 Catalonia
The Basques in Spain were great warriors and the only people in Spain who never totally came under control of the Romans. Some Basque separatist groups are currently fighting for complete independence from Spain. The Basque region in Spain is one of the most prosperous.
西班牙的巴斯克人曾經是很厲害的武士，而且是唯一一個從未被羅馬人完全控制的民族。現在有些巴斯克分離組織正努力把巴斯克區從西班牙獨立出去。巴斯克是西班牙發展最好的幾個地區之一。
加泰羅尼亞曾經搞過獨立公投，大比例贊成獨立，但是西班牙政府並不承認。
