Rob: Hello and welcome to The English We Speak.
羅伯：大家好，歡迎來到“我們所說的英語”。Feifei: Thanks Rob for inviting me to your firework party. Is there any reason why you are having it tonight?
菲菲：謝謝羅伯邀請我來參加你的煙火派對。你們今晚的煙火派對是爲了慶祝什麼嗎？Rob: Yes, Feifei, "Remember, remember the fifth of November" as we say.
羅伯：是的菲菲。正如我們所說“猶記得，猶記得，十一月五日猶記得。”
Feifei: "Remember, remember, the fifth of November" - I hadn't forgotten - that is today's date Rob but...
菲菲：“猶記得，猶記得，十一月五日猶記得。”我不記得了。是今天沒錯但是羅伯。。。Rob: 's what we say in the UK to remember the day when Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament back in 1605. Now, on this date, we have firework parties to remember the event.
羅伯：在英國我們這樣說，是爲了記住1605年蓋伊福克斯企圖炸掉議會大廈的那一天。現在，在這一天，我們舉行煙火派對來記住這個事情。Feifei: Rob, that is quite a serious event to celebrate but this party is fun - it's going really well.
菲菲：羅伯，那可是很嚴肅的事件但是這個派對有趣極了。Rob: Oh thanks Feifei. It's going with a bang isn't it!
羅伯：謝謝菲菲，的確是轟轟烈烈。Feifei: Going with a bang? It's certainly going with a bang because of all these... (bang) fireworks. (Shouting) It's very noisy!
菲菲：轟轟烈烈？這兒當然是“轟轟”作響，因爲這些煙火，這兒真吵！Rob: (Shouting) Yes it is! But when something is going with a bang is doesn't always have to involve fireworks. (Fireworks get quieter) That's better. If we say a party or an event is going with a bang, it's an informal way of saying it's going very well - it's a success, it's very exciting.
羅伯：（叫喊）是啊！但是所謂的“轟轟烈烈”並不意味着一定要“轟轟”作響。（煙火漸漸安靜）這下好多了。如果我們說一個派對或者一個事件轟轟烈烈，這是說某件事進行的很好的非正式說法。Feifei: I see. Let's hear some examples...
菲菲：我懂了。讓我們來聽一些例子吧。。。Everyone enjoyed the parade especially as it didn't rain; it really went off with a bang!
每個人都很享受這次遊行，特別是因爲沒有下雨。真的是太棒了！The wedding party went with a bang as soon as everyone had a glass of champagne!
婚禮進行得很順利，每個人都有一杯香檳！This party should really go with a bang now that the band is playing.
既然樂隊在演奏，這個派對應該進行得很成功。Rob: OK, Feifei, just one more firework to light. Here goes... it's going to be a very big one... stand back!
羅伯：好了，菲菲，再點一個煙花。來了。。。這可是很大的一個。。。往後站！Feifei: , it looks like that last firework isn't going with a bang.
菲菲：。。。嗯，看來這最後一個沒有那麼轟轟烈烈啊。Rob: No it's not is it! Ah well, it was still a good party wasn't it. Good food, lots of drink, good music and good company - don't you agree?
羅伯：還真沒有。好吧，但這依然是一個很棒的派對，不是嗎？很多美食，很多飲料，優美的音樂，愉快的相聚，難道你不同意嗎？Feifei: Definitely Rob. It certainly went with a bang! In fact we could say it was... 'banging'!
菲菲：當然同意啦羅伯。這當然是很棒的派對。實際上我們可以說它很“banging”！Rob: Excuse me?
羅伯：啥？Feifei: Banging - keep up Rob, It's another way of saying something was fantastic. Your party was 'banging'!
菲菲：就是“banging”啊，想想，羅伯！這是另一種說某件事很棒的方式。你的派對“棒極了”！Rob: Well, thank you Feifei but hold on... that last firework looks like it's about to go off... watch out!!
羅伯：恩，謝謝你，菲菲，但是等等，最後一個煙花看上去是要開始放了，小心！Rob: Now that really went with a bang!
羅伯：這下是真的轟轟烈烈了！Both: Bye.
