Foshan, Ningbo and Dongguan are the mainland’s most romantic cities, according to a list compiled by Amazon China based on its nationwide sales results.
Changsha, Wuxi, Kunming, Chongqing, Chengdu, Shenyang and Dalian completed the top 10, beating out Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, which ranked 13th, 19th and 22nd respectively.
The online retailer compiled its first list of China’s most romantic cities based on 2013 sales of love, wedding, romance and idol-themed books, e-books and CDs.
Contrary to the stereotype that southerners are more refined while northerners are more passionate, 60 per cent of the top 30 cities were in the south.

亞馬遜的這份中國首張最浪漫城市榜單，依據的是其2013年愛情、婚慶、浪漫相關商品及偶像題材的紙質書、電子書和CD等的銷售情況。
與“南方人相對保守、北方人相對熱情”的傳統觀念相反，排名前30的城市中，有60%都是南方城市。

【講解】
文中的romantic cities就是“浪漫城市”的意思，其中romantic是一個形容詞，釋義爲“浪漫的、愛情的”，比如romantic fiction（言情小說）、a romantic girl（多情的姑娘）。首字母大寫的Romantic用來指19世紀的浪漫主義運動，描述這一時期文學、音樂和藝術的重視主觀內心世界、抒發情感和想象、迴歸自然的特徵。
