美國習慣用語 第517期:錯失良機
今天要講的習慣用語共有這樣一個關鍵詞 ： boat。 Boat這個詞大家早就知道是“船。” 它是個極其普通的詞，它被普遍應用而組合成不少習慣用語。
今天要學的第一個習慣用語是：miss the boat。 Miss意思是“錯過。” 顯然miss the boat是錯過了船班，或者說是坐船脫班了。那麼miss the boat作爲習慣用語表示什麼意思呢？

其實中國也有類似的成語：同舟共濟。習慣用語all in the same boat沿用至今已經有一個世紀以上了。它最初也許來自報上的一篇報道，說沉船上的旅客擠在一隻救生艇裏在汪洋大海上漂流。
