美國習慣用語 第717:不滿意
上星期商店大甩賣，我買了個咖啡壺。樣子雖然很好看，但是質量卻不咋地。我決定馬上把它退回去。這倒讓我想起了今天要學的習慣用語， cut the mustard. 動詞cut在中文裏是切割的意思，mustard是芥末的意思。直譯顯然說不通。其實啊，cut the mustard在英語裏的意思就是符合標準、符合要求。
