so的含義和搭配的用法
單詞“so”，這個單詞雖短，也很常見，但要真正掌握它的用法，還着實不易，因爲它詞意豐富，搭配衆多，且詞性詭異，在SAT語法考試部分，其出鏡率很高，新東方上海學校VIP學習中心SAT團隊的老師提醒各位考生千萬不能小覷它，一定要掌握好每一個含義和搭配的用法，在考試中才不會被“陷阱”迷惑。
一、“so”作爲連詞
1. 釋義：for that reason;and therefore
例句：There are no more chairs available, so you'll have to stand.

此題的考點是不完整句，謂語動詞部分缺少了用於構成被動語態的助動詞is，當答案範圍圈定D和E時，就需要從where和so來下手了。通讀題幹，我們知道這裏應該是因果關係，所以選擇E。
2. 釋義：used to say the reason for something
例句：Please be quiet so I can study.
此時也可以使用so that：I'll get a map so that we can plan where to go.

此題的考點是代詞的格，答案爲A。在這道題目中，so that是一個從屬連詞，表示“以便”。
二、“so”作爲副詞
1. 釋義：used when you are emphasizing a fact by saying what the result of it is
例句：She was so tired that she almost fell asleep at the dinner table.

此題答案爲E，表達了正確的語義邏輯。
2. 釋義：and so=and therefore
例句：Madeira has an ideal climate, and so it is not surprising that it has become a tourist paradise.
有的同學只知道so是連詞，因此看到and so的時候，會覺得是兩個連詞一起使用，任務是錯誤用法。其實在and so這個搭配中，and是連詞，so是副詞。請看題：

這個結構也表示“如此...以至於”，只不過後面要加動詞原形。請看題：

此題答案爲B，應該爲as to become，以與前面的so構成搭配。
4. 同級比較的否定結構中：not
大家都知道，...表示是同級比較的肯定形式，在否定句中，前一個as可以換成so，這一點在SAT語法考試中也經常考察。請看題：

例句：Just as the French love their wine, so the English love their beer.
這個結構在SAT語法考試中出現了多次，如下面這道題：
