北京發新規 舉報間諜行爲最高獎勵50萬

Beijing residents could be rewarded with up to 500,000 yuan if they can provide useful information on spies or related activities, according to a government policy that took effect last Monday.

根據於上週一生效的一項政府政策，北京市民若提供間諜或相關活動的有用情報，最多可獲獎勵50萬元。

Informants are eligible to be offered rewards ranging from 100,000 yuan to 500,000 yuan, depending on how useful the information is, according to the policy issued by the National Security Bureau of Beijing.

由北京市國家安全局發佈的該政策規定，根據情報的有用程度，舉報人可獲10萬至50萬元獎勵。

City officials said the public should help "to slowly construct an iron Great Wall in combating evil and guarding against spies".

北京市政府官員稱，廣大羣衆應該慢慢建起一座鐵一般的長城，來與惡勢力做抗爭、防範間諜。

Informants can pass information to authorities by calling a hotline, sending letters or visiting the bureau.

舉報人可撥打熱線、寫信或直接到北京市國安局向國安機關傳遞情報。

Informants can ask authorities for protection if they or their relatives are in danger due to the act of informing, according to the policy.

根據該政策，因提供間諜相關情報，舉報人或其親屬面臨危險的，可向國安機關請求予以保護。

However, informants will face punishments if they deliberately slander others or invent and spread false information, the policy stipulates.

該政策規定，如果舉報人故意誣告他人、編造和傳播虛假信息，則將面臨處罰。
