第一， 情景對話
A: You look so nervous, why?
似乎很緊張，怎麼了？
B: I have an English test tomorrow.
明天要考英語。
A: Oh, I see.
原來是這樣。
B: I have some trouble in my homework, please do me a favor.
我的作業有點難，幫幫忙好吧。
A: What's the problem?
有什麼問題？
B: I can't make heads or tails of the sentence. Could you please translate it for me?
這個句子我弄不懂，你給翻譯一下好嗎？
A: OK, let me see.

第二， 詞彙拾貝
make heads or tails of
exp. To understand someone or something. （弄清楚…….，充分了解清楚………）
e.g. I can't make heads or tails of that new guy in accounting. Sometimes, he's really friendly, and then other times he acts like he's never met me before.
我搞不懂那個新來的會計。有時，他真的很友好，但有時他表現得好像從未見過我。
e.g. I couldn't make heads or tails of what he was saying.
我根本不懂他說什麼。
e.g. When I was younger, I used to listen to a lot of disco. These days my kids listen to rap. I like its rhythm, but don't understand what the lyrics are about at all. Frankly, I can't make heads or tails of them.
我年輕的時候，聽的都是迪斯科disco。現在我的孩子喜歡聽rap說唱音樂。我很喜歡說唱音樂的節奏，但是卻不知道歌裏唱的是什麼。說老實話，我完全聽不懂歌詞。
e.g. My business partner and I thought we'd save some money on furniture for our office. So we bought a desk, a set of drawers, and some shelving that required assembly. The directions explaining how to put the pieces together looked easy to follow, but we couldn't make heads or tails of them. We finally had to call a store assistant for help.

第三， 語彙積累
1. have a test：測驗
e.g. Get with it, everybody. You're going to have a test soon.
各位，請注意。等一下你們要做一個測驗。
e.g. In maths classes we have a test every one and a half weeks.
例如，我們的數學課每一週半測驗一次。
2. have some trouble in：在…….有困難
e.g. We had some trouble in the village last night, but it's all right now.
昨晚我們村裏出了點亂子, 現在沒事了。
e.g. I have some trouble in reading her handwriting.
我認她的筆跡感到有些困難。
3. do somebody a favor：幫……的忙
e.g. Could you do me a favor to hand me that pencil, please?
你能幫我把那支筆遞給我嗎?
e.g. It's a good idea to butter a person up before asking them to do you a favor.
在要求別人幫你忙之前，最好先對他們說些好聽的話。
