現年41歲的迪卡普里奧在25年的表演職業生涯（career spanning）中四次提名（nominate）奧斯卡最佳男主角。他因在《荒野獵人》（The Revenant）中的精彩表現，成爲本屆奧斯卡影帝的熱門人選（the favorite to clinch the Academy Award）。
現在，小李子已經成爲世界上最受讚賞及最受歡迎的男演員（the world's most admired and popular actors），他還是一名環保事業的支持者（a champion of environmental causes ranging），他一直在關注海洋保護區（marine reserves）和土著人的權利（the rights of indigenous people）。
