美語情景對話 第1334期:Have you ever had a bad job? 你做過糟糕的工作嗎?

Silvia: Hi, my name is Silvia. I'm from Gautemala.

西爾維亞：嗨，我是西爾維亞，來自危地馬拉。

Diego: And my name is Diego. I'm from Mexico.

迭戈：我是迭戈，來自墨西哥。

Silvia: Diego, I want to ask you something. Have you ever had a really bad job?

西爾維亞：迭戈，我想問你個問題。你做過非常糟糕的工作嗎？

Diego: I don't think I've had a bad job, but I had a really bad experience while working. And I was working at the World Trade Organization, and it's a very intense place to work at, and what happened is that my boss had a back problem, so one day his back really, really hurt, and we were a bit late for a meeting, but we needed coffee because when you're working you need coffee.

迭戈：我認爲我沒做過糟糕的工作，不過我在工作時有過糟糕的經歷。當時我在世界貿易組織工作，那裏的工作氛圍非常緊張，我老闆有背部疾病，有一天他的後背非常疼，我們開會時遲到了一小會兒，我們需要咖啡，工作時一般都需要咖啡。

Silvia: Of course.

西爾維亞：當然了。

Diego: So we went to buy coffee at the cafeteria, and I asked him if I should carry his bag, and he said yes because he has the back problem, so I was carrying his bag, my bag and files, because I was an intern.

迭戈：所以我們去咖啡廳買咖啡了，我問他用不用我幫他拿包，他說用，因爲他的後背很疼，所以我拿着他的包、我的包還有文件，因爲當時我是實習生。

Silvia: Don't tell me you spilled the coffee on the files?

西爾維亞：別告訴我你把咖啡灑在文件上了。

Diego: No.

迭戈：不是。

Silvia: OK.

西爾維亞：還好。

Diego: It's even worse.

迭戈：比那還嚴重。

Silvia: Worse?

西爾維亞：還要嚴重？

Diego: Worse!

迭戈：更嚴重！

Silvia: Oh my God!

西爾維亞：哦我的天哪！

Diego: I was carrying, files, and two laptops, or two bags and what happened is that it was a meeting. It was a very important meeting with representatives from 153 different countries, and we were inside the meeting room and it's long, long, long, long tables with chairs on each side. And I was staggering through the chairs, and what happened is that I was holding the coffee, and then my bag fell from my shoulder to my elbow. And the coffee just went like Vhoo inside the meeting room, and it landed on the representative from India and ...

迭戈：當時我拿着文件、兩臺筆記本電腦，或者說兩個包，我們趕到會議現場。那是一場非常重要的會議，來自153個國家的代表參會，會議室裏是非常長的桌子，桌子兩側放着椅子。我搖搖晃晃地在椅子中間穿行，當時我拿着咖啡，而我的包突然從肩膀滑到了手肘。咖啡噴灑在會議室，落到了印度代表身上……

Silvia: Oh, my gosh!

西爾維亞：哦我的天哪！

Diego: It was horrible because we were there late, so the meeting was going on, and I spilled the coffee, burning hot coffee on the guy from India. He just jumped and he screamed, and everybody was just looking at me, and I think it's one of the most embarrassing moments in my life.

迭戈：那非常可怕，因爲我們遲到了，我們趕到的時候會議已經開始了，而我又弄灑了咖啡，把熱咖啡灑在了印度代表身上。他跳起來尖叫，然後所有人都看向我，我想那是我人生中最尷尬的時刻之一。

Silvia: It is actually.

西爾維亞：的確是。
