中國紅十字會近日剛剛澄清“網絡炫富女”郭美美事件，其財政收支的問題又遭到社會質疑，爆發信任危機。國家審計署在審計過程中發現，紅十字總會在預算執行和其他財政收支中存在問題。

The Red Cross Society's credibility had already plummeted after a recent scandal involving the misuse of donations, when it was found to have overspent 4.2 million yuan, exceeding by 34 percent the accepted budget for equipment procurement in December 2009.
在近期捐款濫用醜聞曝光後，公衆對中國紅十字會的信任度大幅下跌。國家審計署在審計過程中發現，中國紅十字會超額支出420萬元人民幣，比2009年通過的設備採購預算多出34%。
文中的misuse of donations就是指“捐款濫用”，也可以稱爲improper allocation of funds。此次，紅十字會還被審計出了其它一些spending irregularities（違規支出）問題，再加上之前的網絡炫富女事件，無異於add fuel to the public's anger（火上澆油），不僅hurt its image（有損形象），而且shatter public trust（瓦解了公衆信任）。
郭美美近日發消息道歉，稱經理身份爲杜撰，但她的boast online about her lavish lifestyle（網上炫富）行爲給紅十字會造成了惡劣影響。“炫富”還可以用flaunt the considerable wealth來表示，例如While the girls try to make the cut, the guys get to flaunt their considerable wealth. （在女孩們試圖晉級的同時，男士們則可以炫耀他們的鉅額財富。）
