據山東省德州市中級人民法院官方微博（@德州中院 ）11月19日發佈情況通報，宣佈“女子因不孕遭婆家虐待致死”一案因原審不公開開庭審理，違反法律規定的訴訟程序，裁定撤銷原判，發回禹城市人民法院重新審理。

女子遭丈夫和公婆頻繁虐待致死案被髮回中國東部山東省的一家法院重審。

【講解】

frequent abuse是頻繁虐待。
受害人姓方，來自山東德州，據稱因不能懷孕（could not get pregnant），經常遭到丈夫和公婆（parents-in-law）的毆打。
據公訴人（public prosecutor）介紹，自2018年7月份以來，張丙及其父母多次對方某實施餓肚子（starving her）、用木棍抽打（beating her with a wooden stick）、冬天在外罰站（keeping her standing outside in winter）等虐待行爲，且在2019年1月31日多次毆打方某，致使方某死亡（result in her death），年僅22歲。
2020年1月，禹城市人民法院做出一審判決，方某公公（father-in-law）張吉林犯虐待罪（the crime of abuse），判處有期徒刑三年；方某婆婆（mother-in-law）劉蘭英犯虐待罪，判處有期徒刑二年二個月；方某丈夫張丙犯虐待罪，判處有期徒刑二年，緩刑三年（sentenced to two years in prison with a three-year reprieve）。
禹城法院表示，鑑於各被告人（defendants）歸案後均能如實供述犯罪事實（truthfully confessed to the facts of the crime），構成坦白且具有悔罪表現（shows repentance）, 決定從輕處罰（lighter punishment）；各被告人親屬（relatives）自願預交賠償金人民幣5萬元（voluntarily paid compensation of 50,000 yuan in advance），故決定從輕處罰。
當地媒體曝光這起虐待事件後，此案在網上引起廣泛關注（drawn wide attention online）。
方某家屬向德州中院提起上訴（filed an appeal）。
德州市中級人民法院近日撤銷了（annul）對三名被告人的原判，並責令禹城市人民法院重新審理此案（retry the case）。
禹城市人民法院通報稱，其已依法另行組成合議庭（collegiate bench），擬於週四公開開庭審理該案（hear the case in public）。
